What is Vampire: The Masquerade?

Vampire: The Masquerade is a role-playing game by White Wolf Publishing as the first of several Storyteller System games for its World of Darkness setting line. It is set in a fictionalized "gothic-punk" version of the modern world, where players assume the roles of vampires, who are referred to as "Kindred", and deal with their night-to-night struggles against their own bestial natures, vampire hunters and each other.

What is One World by Night?

One World by Night (OWbN) is a national organization unified games, set in the same universe, strung together by plotlines, genre, shared governance and the desire to have fun in a shared universe. Ultimately, the goal of the OWbN organization is for everyone involved to have fun and enjoy the submersion of the Player Characters (PCs) into a living, growing setting.

What is a parlour LARP?

Theater style of LARP(Live Action Role Play) that focuses on interactions. It's like a table top, but there is no table, more roleplay, and lots more improv.

What does it cost?

We are absolutely free.

Do I need a costume?

You don’t. Costuming is always welcome and encouraged, but not at all mandatory to play and enjoy. Most of our players come to game in normal clothes and only do full costume for special event games.

Can I just come watch?

Of course. People are always welcome to come hangout and watch the game, or ask to play NPC (non-playable characters) or one shot characters, to get a feel for the game.

What is an ST?

An ST is a Storyteller. They are the person (or staff of people) who serve as the narrators and creators of plot in the game. Similar to a Dungeon Master in Dungeons and Dragons.

Can I play something with magic?

First time players and new players will not have access to magic or rare/unusual clans. We want people to get to know you and get to know the game with more common clans. Find out more about the clans on the Clans page. 

What can I play besides a vampire?

Our local game is a Camarilla vampire game only. That doesn't mean other creatures don't exist though. OWBN and the World of Darkness genre are home to werewolves, mages, changelings, wraiths, and many other creatures. 

How do I get started?

The best way to get started is to check out our game's Facebook group, check out One World by Night’s website, or email the ST staff at staugsts@gmail.com. We also have a discord server!

Where is your game schedule posted?

Our general game schedule is 2nd and 4th Fridays. Our events will usually be posted regularly in our Facebook group, linked above.
